Grading
Everything is out of 100 marks, with bonus marks on top.
| Component | Marks | How |
|---|---|---|
| Quizzes | 54 | Four closed-book quizzes; your best three count, 18 marks each. No makeup quizzes: a quiz missed for any reason scores zero. |
| Assignments | 40 | Four or five group assignments of varying weight (for example, some 10 marks and some 12), each with at least one project-like question. Some involve pull requests to public repositories or demos in the style of Hugging Face Spaces. Each is followed by a viva. |
| Attendance | 6 | See the table below. |
| Total | 100 |
Assignment marks
| Part | Share |
|---|---|
| Code runs correctly and solves the problem | 50% |
| Questions on the assignment and your code | 25% |
| Code quality | 12.5% |
| Questions on the theory behind it | 12.5% |
All members of a group get the same grade. There are no extensions. In the viva, the TAs check that the code matches your submission (any change from it draws a warning), run it, and ask questions: about three quarters on the assignment and a quarter on the theory behind it.
Attendance
