Redacat redacts images and PDFs entirely in your browser, using WebAssembly. In PDFs the covered text is deleted from the file, not hidden behind a box. No uploads, no servers, no analytics — it even works offline.
real redaction
In PDFs, text and graphics under a mark are removed from the file by the MuPDF engine — not covered by a rectangle someone can lift off. Images are rebuilt pixel by pixel, and EXIF metadata (location, camera, timestamps) is dropped automatically.
local by design
Everything runs in this tab. A strict Content-Security-Policy forbids all network requests, so the page couldn't phone home even if it wanted to. Load it once and it keeps working in airplane mode.
open source
